About Us

Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), Signs of HOPE (SOH) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual support and resources they need to move through the process of healing.

    On February 8, 2024, Signs of HOPE, along with other Nevada nonprofits working in the domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking fields, were honored by CBS and the NFL at the Unsung Heroes breakfast.

    This event was held to celebrate local nonprofits’ crucial work around domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking prevention, and our commitment to providing resources to survivors. Thank you to CBS and the NFL for inviting Signs of HOPE to this incredible event!
