About Us

Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), Signs of HOPE (SOH) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual support and resources they need to move through the process of healing.

    Advocacy

    Our advocates provide free and confidential support to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. Services are available whether the abuse occurred days or a decade ago.

    Ongoing Support:

    Our advocates provide survivors of sexual violence with:

    • Accompaniment to make a police report or for court proceedings and hearings.

    • Assistance applying for protection orders, Victims of Crime compensation, Confidential Address Program, Tenant’s Right to terminate Lease Due to Sexual Assault, and other forms.

    • Confidential Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) hotline and mail program for incarcerated survivors.

    • Referrals to medical. Mental health, legal, employment, and housing, and shelter resources.

    • Case Management Services.
