About Us

Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), Signs of HOPE (SOH) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual support and resources they need to move through the process of healing.

    Dear Signs of HOPE Community,

As we embark on this season of gratitude, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your continued support.

Your generosity, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, has powered our efforts to bring hope, help, and healing to those who need it most. Each act of kindness strengthens the foundation of our community and reaffirms the power of coming together for a shared purpose.

On December 11th, at Signs of HOPE’s 12th Annual Hope for the Holidays: Night Out with News 3, we will honor several of our many partners who have come alongside us in this fight to end sexual violence and exploitation.

    • Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix – 2024 Corporate Champion Award
    • M.J. Maynard, Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) – 2024 President’s Distinguished Service Award
    • Tao Group Hospitality Cares – 2024 Legacy of Hope Award
    • Bryce Clarke – 2024 Legacy of Hope Award

We are deeply grateful to them—and to you—for believing in our mission and standing by our side as we continue this vital work. Together, we are creating meaningful change, transforming lives one step, one moment, and one spark of hope at a time.

    With gratitude,

    Kim Small

    Safety Tips

With the buzz around the F1 race coming to town, the entire team at Signs of HOPE is preparing our volunteers to provide on-scene support and resources. Not many people know that large events like these can lead to an increase in violence.

As the lead human trafficking nonprofit for the inaugural F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, here are a few safety tips to share with your loved ones and community!

    1. Have a Point of Contact: Make sure someone knows your plans and can check in with you throughout the day.

    2. Share Your Location: Use your phone to share your live location with trusted loved ones. Stay connected, stay safe.

    3. Remember, It Is Never Your Fault: If something feels off, trust your instincts. Your safety is your right.

Share these tips, stay vigilant, and let’s enjoy the race together safely!

    Energizer Bunny Award

    Natali, Counseling Center Coordinator

This month’s recipient for the Energizer Bunny Award goes to our Counseling Center Coordinator, Natali!

Natali graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is dedicated to serving underserved communities. During her time at UNLV, she founded a chapter of Hearts for the Homeless, where she organized efforts to support unhoused populations to regain stability.

With a goal of becoming a physician, Natali aspires to provide compassionate care to populations with limited access to healthcare.

Currently, she is proud to be part of Signs of Hope, where she can continue to make an impact by supporting and empowering individuals in the Las Vegas community.
