About Us

Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), Signs of HOPE (SOH) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual support and resources they need to move through the process of healing.

    Signs of HOPE 5k August 18, 2026

    News 3 Las Vegas highlighted the inaugural Signs of HOPE 5K at Sunset Park, a community event supporting survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. The family-friendly run and walk brought participants together in solidarity with survivors and raised awareness of the resources available throughout Southern Nevada.

    Funds raised support essential Signs of HOPE services, including survivor advocacy, counseling, prevention education, crisis response and case management.
